COMERTEX LOCAL AND REGIONAL COMPANY

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted global supply chains in a way not seen since World War II. In the first quarter of 2020, the measures established by China to contain the spread of the virus, which included the closure of factories, roads and ports, had a rapid impact on the global supply of all types of goods.

In the following weeks, inventory breaks began to occur in sectors such as automotive, electronics, and especially medical equipment; Companies from different industrial sectors were in a similar situation.

As never before, the importance of having a good risk management strategy was highlighted, seeking to make supply chains less global and more regional, or what is the same, the need to have suppliers closer to the destination markets. The reduction of the distance between suppliers and buyers is prevailing over the reconfiguration of supply chains in companies.
